Jon graduated from Western Sydney University with a Master of Creative Music Therapy with distinction in 2017, and from Macquarie University with a Bachelor in Speech and Hearing Sciences in 2015. He is a registered music therapist with the Australian Music Therapy Association (AMTA).
Jon understands that working families are busy and getting to-and-from therapy can be logistically challenging. Therefore, he divides his time delivering mobile music therapy to individuals at homes or schools throughout the Sydney Metro area, as well as his private practice located in Lane Cove NSW.
One of Jon’s strengths is his ability to use his wide-ranging musical repertoire and musicality to connect with his clients. His passion lies in utilising a developmental, sensory-integrative and relationship-based music therapy approach to address cognitive, physical, sensory, communication, social and emotional goals of his clients.
Jon has a notable interest in working with children with Autism and sensory processing difficulties. He has attended professional development courses and workshops for children with Autism to ensure that his clients continue to receive high quality music therapy. Jon is trained in implementing "The Zones of Regulation" framework, "Quickshifts" and "Therapeutic Listening®" strategies for his clients. He is also interested in psychiatric music therapy with a focus on illness-management and recovery especially for his adolescent and adult clients.
Jon works primarily with NDIS self-managed, plan-managed clients and private clients. He is family focussed and places an emphasis on collaboration and training with family and allied health professionals.
